Rhythm Converted • Roy El Kei

On Saturday, 23.08.2014 expects you at 19:00 CET on soe.one a new edition of Rhythm Converted. We are proud to present every week a new episode hosted by Tom Hades. This time with the Netherlands based DJ and producer Roy El Kei.

Roy El Kei:

It all started when he was seventeen years old. The young Leroy Konjanan bought his first turntables and started collecting records from his heroes like Chris Liebing, Marco Carola and the very own dutch Speedy J. It wouldn't take long before he couldn't get his hands of his turntables.

After years of practice, Leroy managed to book his very first performance for an enthusiastic crowd! It was 2006 when Leroy, now as Roy El Kei, participated in a dj contest in Rotterdam at one of the best club nights in the Netherlands and won after crushing his opponents.

After winning the contest he knew he wanted more. He participated in several other dj-contests, like Partyflock (Flockers) where he performed for over 20.000 people. After that he also received the dj-talent of the year award at Holland’s biggest dance radio SLAM FM.

From this point on all went fast for Roy El Kei and he was happy to perform in almost every big club in the Netherlands. In 2009 it was time for a very own techhouse and techno concept, and DEEP at Hedon Venue (Zwolle) became reality.

Many national and international acclaimed artists visited Roy's hometown Zwolle to perform at DEEP. Among them were artists like Michel de Hey, The Advent and Bart Skils.

Latest news is that dj gear manufacturer Allen & Heath added Leroy to their team of demonstrators for workshops in the Netherlands starting september this year.
