On Wednesday, 11.10.2017 expects you at 19:00 CEST on soe.one a new episode of Deepicnic. This time with an exclusive back-2-back mix by the São Paulo based Amanda Mussi and the Asunción based Victoria Mussi.

Through the combination of sounds from acid house, dub techno, minimal, Detroit techno, and break beats, Sao Paulo based DJ and producer Amanda Mussi develops a captivating and diverse atmosphere on the dance floor and in her percussion driven creations, surpassing commonalities as to bring something fresh and novel to the scene.

With the influences of classical music and 90’s garage, and listening to her father play different instruments as she grew up; Amanda developed a strong passion for music. This feeling became the driving force for her career, triggering the thirst to learn more.

Her interest in the art of mixing is rooted in watching her friends play hip hop and drum n’ bass records as a teenager. Inspired by the magic brought to the room by the sound of merging records, she decided to dive into the DJ world and explore its possibilities.

Self-taught and having given her first steps as part of the collective Metanol in Sao Paulo, Amanda now develops the parties Dûsk and Egregora, working alongside renown artists from the underground music scene.

Simultaneously, Amanda has taken her sound to cities such as Asunción, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, New York, and Boston. In the meantime she is also working on production projects of her own and collaborating with other artists too.

The relay of emotions triggered by the collaboration between the DJ and the audience is what inspires Victoria Mussi to dig deeper and explore the world of music from the creation, selection, and mixing of sounds.

Based on the symmetry of urban and industrial aesthetics, Victoria Mussi proposes a style spectrum where the classic components of house merge with the futuristic essence of techno.

Alongside renowned artists of the underground music scene in her hometown, Asunción, she currently develops concepts with a cutting-edge approach where different art forms combine to generate unique avenues for musical expression in platforms such as Dollhouse, Dollhouse Radio Show, and Sequence Club.

Her work has been featured on DJ Mag July 2014 and March 2016, as well as Boiler Room Asunción and Mixmag Lab NYC, among other venues around the globe.
